If you are using Adobe to track your site activity, you may want to use this data to validate the visit counts you are seeing in Abakus. First things first, how does Adobe define visits? They have several metrics:
Adobe Page Views: The number of times the s.t() function was fired within the given date range
Adobe Visits: The number of sessions within a given time period. A visit is defined as a sequence of consecutive page views without a 30-minute break, or continuous activity for 12 hours. They most commonly consist of multiple image requests, however visitors that bounce can consist of a single page view.
Adobe Visitors: The number of unique people that access your site within a given time period.
As detailed here Abakus visits are a record of every page visit. So Abakus Visits = Adobe Page Views.
Adobe site analytics is also known as: Omniture, Adobe Analytics and Site Catalyst.
