Under Campaign Reports you will find the User Events screen. This provides you an overview of site activity from users that are being captured by the Abakus platform.
Visits: Record of every page visit. i.e. if a user visited your site five times yesterday, this would be captured as 5 visits yesterday
Conversions: Record of every conversion event. Conversions are defined as part of your on boarding (Tracking outcomes). Just like visits, a single user can represent multiple conversions
Why are visits tracked prior to the start of my measurement period?
Abakus uses prior visit data to segment users into those that are aware of the brand (prior site visits) and those that are not (no prior site visit) or Upper and Lower funnel (User segmentation in Abakus)
By default, Abakus sets the prior visit to be 45 days prior to the start of the analysis period. Some background on this below:
- Prior visit data is used to segment user populations into those that have shown purchase intent by visiting the brand's website in the past. This also means these users cannot see upper funnel advertising as they essentially start in the lower funnel.
- If a user's last visit to the website is outside of this prior period, they will essentially be treated as a new user by Abakus segmentation.
- Online consideration periods are generally accepted to be between 30 and 60 days. Abakus’ uses the median of this range, 45 days, as the default period for which prior visits are considered.
